While speaking to MMA Fighting, different sources confirmed the updated schedule on Thursday. ESPN has reported about the change initially. However, they did not confirm the location and the venue yet.
This match has become intriguing for many reasons. In case these two players don’t have enough similar positions in the ranking, they’ll have to fight with two common opponents and the match will be on four-fight winning streaks.
UFC 265 has revealed many details on the air. As we mentioned before, the location and venue are still not confirmed. Besides, they are taking time to announce the official main event and co-main event.
However, many sources confirmed adding some fireworks to the event in the middleweight division. Hall has four victories in a row, and this is the longest win streak of his UFC career.
With this win streak, Hall has climbed up several steps in the ranking of 185 pounds. Only two players Bevon Lewis and Anderson Silva were able to knock out Hall in his past six matches.
After losing two times in his first UFC bouts, he went 5-1 on his next six surprisingly. In the meantime, he was defeated only three times that came from a split decision.
Recently he has defeated Gegard Mousai, who was world champion multiple times. He avenged his defeat by winning against Chris Weidman, Antonio Carlos Juniors, Bevon Lewis, Anderson Silva. These were Hall’s four wins in a row.
On the other hand, Strickland has a resurgence after the devastating motorcycle accident. In the past eight months, Strickland managed to win three matches in a row. This is really a vengeance after his comeback.
After eleven months, Strickland came back to the UFC with the title of six-time middleweight champion. However, as mentioned above, Strickland, like Hall, has really found his groove lately, winning his last four over the likes of Nordine Taleb (TKO), Jack Marshman (UD), Brendan Allen (TKO), and Krzysztof Jotko (UD).
Bubba Mcdaniel is the common opponent of Hall and Strickland. He was who finished off by both of them in the first round. Hall did so in just eight seconds via KO, and Strickland submitted him at 4:33 of the round.
The other is Jotko, who Hall of course KO’d, but not after going through some real adversity in round one. Currently, Uriah Hall’s rank is #8 in the world ranking and this is the final stage of his career.
